Oakley was built in the first quarter of the 19th century in what is now the Heathsville Historic District. This Federal-style house features Greek Revival detailing. Despite additions and alterations to the house, notably a rear ell built at the end of the 19th century, the central block still reads as a two-and-one-half-story, single-pile, central-passage house. The façade boasts a handsome porch with paired Doric columns, a latticed balustrade, and a heavy cornice highlighted by brackets. The Oakley property also contains a prominent turn-of-the-20th-century barn.

Many properties listed in the registers are private dwellings and are not open to the public, however many are visible from the public right-of-way. Please be respectful of owner privacy.
