An excellent example of warehouse construction from the early 20th century, the two-story Whitesel Brothers Building, built in 1939 in the city of Harrisonburg, reveals late Depression-era craftsmanship and technology in its brick and woodwork and the use of an arched-truss system on the second floor. The Whitesel Brothers Building was constructed for a Harrisonburg farm implement business, and its original mechanical systems—such as a freight elevator—were still in good order at the time of listing in the registers, a rarity among warehouses of this age.

Many properties listed in the registers are private dwellings and are not open to the public, however many are visible from the public right-of-way. Please be respectful of owner privacy.
