Constructed in 1926, the Seaboard Air Line Railway Building is the only large-scale commercial example of the late Gothic Revival style in Norfolk, and offers an early example of reinforced-concrete skyscraper construction in the city. It served as the purpose-built headquarters for the Seaboard Air Line Railway company for many years.  The building contributes to the West Freemason Street Area Historic District.
