As part of ongoing research associated with the East Marshall Street Well Project, Virginia Commonwealth University and the Family Representative Council have requested a permit from DHR to allow further investigation of ancestral remains recovered from the well in 1994. As part of this application, VCU will hold a remote public meeting on December 29, at 6:30 p.m. and invites all members of the interested public to participate. DHR archaeologist and cemetery preservationist Joanna Wilson Green will be present to answer questions about the burial permit application and permitting process.
